Cancer - a solo or team sport?

Excuse me, are you comparing cancer to a sport? Yes, yes, I am. Please stay with me and keep reading.

The definition of a solo sport is a sport or physical activity in which individuals compete, perform, or participate alone rather than as part of a team. Solo sports emphasize personal skill, endurance, and self-discipline, as the athlete is responsible for their own performance without relying on teammates. Examples of solo sports are tennis (singles) golf, gymnastics, track and field, swimming, martial arts and cycling.

A team sport is a sport or physical activity where participants are organized into groups, or teams, that compete against one another. Success in team sports relies on the collective efforts, coordination, and strategic collaboration of the team members, each of whom usually has specific roles and responsibilities. Examples of team sports are soccer, basketball, football, hockey, volleyball, and baseball.

If you are diagnosed with cancer, do you want to go at it solo or with a team? A couple of keys words I highlighted are alone, teams, and success. I don't' know about you, but I walked out my cancer with a team of physicians, nurses, family members, friends, and church members that truly made a difference!

Cancer is not a season of life where you want to be alone. You need a team. A team of people who can answer your questions, help you decide on your treatment, who can pick up the slack at work or with your family. You NEED a team. Humble yourself and ask for help from all the folks that are offering.

If you know someone who is fighting cancer, join their team! Don't ask them to "let you know" what they need.

Show. Up.

Just show up. Ask yourself, what would I need if I was diagnosed with cancer? Then do that!

Fighting cancer is a team effort. So, join the team.

A successful team relies on the collective efforts, coordination, and strategic collaboration of the team members, each of whom usually has specific roles and responsibilities.

Go!

        Fight!

                      Win!
